First Post

Hello and welcome to the first post of /blog @ lmj.com. I set up WordPress on my domain to add a blog to my website. To find out more information, click on the About page. I also made a How-To page that explains what a blog is and how it works. In the next couple of days, I will be adding more posts and I solidify this blog to help fill it out.

I recently finished all corrections to my portfolio website and added a new website to my portfolio (Passe Partout). I was thinking about adding a little About Me section in about section of this blog, since blogs are typically more informal and my portfolio website is a more professional front for my work.

Added a new book to my I Am Reading section. It’s a book by Peter Novick named The Holocaust in American Life. The author follows the progress of the Holocaust from circa 1940s until the present time and how the Holocaust has entered the collective and public memory of America. Why is it that an event that didn’t happen to Americans, and occurred overseas is such a highly publicized event here? (It might be more prudent for Americans to make a museum to slavery or the ‘holocaust’ of American Indians) If you’re interested in how Jews and non-Jews viewed the Holocaust over a 70 years period, this is a great book to read.
